I know from experience how time-consuming, expensive, and stressful it can be to learn Dutch—especially when your career depends on it.
Hi, I am Shershah Zahir. When I moved to the Netherlands in 2020, I realized that learning Dutch wasn’t just about grammar or vocabulary. To build a career, I also had to understand the language, culture, and social norms of Dutch workplaces. By 2021, I had started working fully in Dutch as a Project Manager for the City of Rotterdam—and over the past five years, I’ve continued to grow and learn in a Dutch-speaking professional environment.
Through this journey, I realized something important: you don’t need to learn all Dutch. You can't. Most of what you don’t use, you forget. What you really need is the Dutch that matters at work—language for applications, interviews, meetings, and everyday office communication. On top of that, in every profession you’ll also need the technical language of your own field. That part takes time to build, but you can only start once you have a solid foundation in general workplace Dutch.
That’s why I created Zakelijk Nederlands Leren. This course gives you that foundation: the essential office communication skills, cultural insights, and practical tools you need to feel confident at work.
I want to help you learn the Dutch language required for you career, so you can get a job you like and deserve. I have done it, so can you.
